Garden Bay community mailboxes hit again

One entire unit stolen from Roosen Road
N.Mail break-ins
Parcel box sections were forced open in one of four community mailboxes in Garden Bay hit by thieves late Sept. 14 or early Sept. 15.

Garden Bay has again been targeted by community mailbox thieves – and this time they stole an entire unit from Roosen Road.

The parcel box sections were forced open and lock debris, including tangs, fell on the ground.

The break-ins were discovered on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The sub-post office in Garden Bay, which had beefed up security after a break-in during a rash of thefts late last year, escaped their attention much to the relief of the post mistress, Val Hood.

She said a number of community boxes had not been touched.

Community boxes confirmed broken into included four adjacent to Garden Bay Road and Camp Burley Road, and the box missing on Roosen Road.
