Summer will be coming to an end before it's begun for Feastro the Rolling Bistroon the Sunshine Coast.
The well-known mobile food truck will be ceasing operations as of April 30 and moving to its new location, on Thurlow and Cordova streets in Vancouver.
"Given the amount of uncertainty here around our operations, we had to keep our options open," said co-owner Paul Fenton. "That said, we will be back here in some fashion. We will certainly continue to promote the Sunshine Coast. We have a map of the Sunshine Coast proudly displayed on the side of the truck, as we always have."
The decision comes on the heels of much debate over mobile food vendor licences. Feastro recently moved from Davis Bay to Gibsons where they are operating on a temporary permit.
Fenton noted the assistance and support from community partners on the Sunshine Coast in Feastro's establishment and acknowledged the support from loyal customers and fans.
Feastro's celebratory wrap-up will take place on April 30 at Sunshine GM in Wilson Creek from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
But it's not all bad news for Coast foodies, as they will get a chance to see the Coast spotlighted on the Food Network next week.
Feastro filmed a segment for Eat Street, a TV series that explores curbside food trucks and carts located throughout North America late last year. It will air on Wednesday, April 27, on the Food Network at 6:30 and 10:30 p.m.
"The producers said it was one of their favourite episodes. The whole Coast looks fantastic," Fenton said.
