The family of Rhody Lake is hoping a reward offer will lead to information about the missing woman.

The 80-year-old Sechelt woman went missing during an afternoon walk from her home in Sandy Hook on Nov. 27, 2005. She was last seen by a witness speaking to an elderly man walking a dog near the entrance to Porpoise Bay Provincial Park at about 3:30 p.m. that day. She may have been wearing a blue and yellow vest, brown cords, brown hiking boots and an orange or beige toque. She may also have been carrying a walking stick.

Search crews combed the woods and shoreline in the Sandy Hook area for over a week, but turned up no sign of her. Since then, the family and friends have continued to search to no avail.

Rhody's daughter Jennifer Lake said this week the family has put up new missing posters with information about the reward in several locations around town.

When contacted by Coast Reporter on Wednesday, Jennifer said the family is hoping the offer of the reward will lead to some information.

"We just want to find some closure," Jennifer said.

Information on the poster reads: "Rhody Lake's family is offering a $25,000 reward for any accurate and conclusive evidence or information resulting in Rhody's recovery or safe return. This reward will be apportioned as deemed just by the Lake family in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast RCMP. This offer of a reward will expire on Nov. 27, 2006. If you have any information to help solve this case, please contact Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477."
