Update 3 p.m.
Just after 3 p.m., Mckay confirmed that the highway had reopened.
As of 12:45 p.m., Mckay said that crews were able to open one lane of the highway, and that traffic was alternating.
It was a bit of a delay for some morning commuters on the Coast on Jan. 31.
Early in the morning, a tree fell down and knocked out the transmission lines at Highway 101 and Byng Road.
As of 11:20 a.m, Andrew Mckay of Capilano Highway Services confirmed that traffic was still being diverted to Lower Road, and that it was initially blocked off at approximately 7 a.m. that morning.
Mckay confirmed that BC Hydro is on scene, but was yet to provide an estimate when the road will reopen.
