On the evening of May 8, an erratic driver was reported to Sunshine Coast RCMP.
The vehicle was pulled over in the 5500 block of Highway 101 and the odour of marijuana was detected.
RCMP seized 150 grams of marijuana, 15 grams of cocaine anda quantityof oxycodone that was located in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance and given a 24-hour driving suspension for drugs.
Hydro theft reveals grow op
On May 9, Sunshine Coast RCMP responded a to a report from BC Hydro security of a theft of electricity originating from a Gibsons residence.
A service check from BC Hydro revealed a substantial theft of electricity. As a result, RCMP obtained a search warrant on the residence. Once inside the residence, RCMP discovered a recently dismantled marihuana grow operation. Four occupants, three men and one woman, were arrested inside. Charges have not yet been laid, however the file remains under investigation.
Clothing found at Lillies Lake
Sunshine Coast RCMP are looking for the public's assistance in investigating a suspicious occurrence where clothing was found at Lillies Lake, on a trail parallel to Highway 101 in Madeira Park.
A gray hooded sweater with a pocket on the front, blue with red stripe 2010 Olympic jogging pants, white socks, and black boxers with a "Family Guy" logo on the left leg were found recently. The clothing is believed to belong to a late teen or adult male due to the size. The clothing is believed to have been in the area for several months, possibly over winter.
