Elphinstone Logging Focus: The logging protest and road blockade continued this week on Mount Elphinstone at the site of what Elphinstone Logging Focus (ELF) is calling a black bear sanctuary.
Pictured are Squamish First Nation representative Deborah Baker (left), who visited the site this week, and members of the protest who are camping out on the mountain. Ross Muirhead of ELF said Baker planned to take a motion back to her council asking them to publicly support ELF’s effort to save the area from logging after viewing several sites identified as bear dens by McCrory Wildlife Services. als will be sent to provincial and federal ministers for a final decision.
