A boil water advisory was issued for the Eastbourne water system on Keats Island on Nov. 9. The advisory was lifted on Nov. 19.
According to the Sunshine Coast Regional District website, those with water tanks that stored water while the boil water advisory was in effect should dump them and refill them with fresh water.
The advisory was issued after the drinking water officer found increased coliform counts in the water, as well as an increase in the system’s chlorine demand.
