Sunshine Coast RCMP arrested a suspect last week after a domestic disturbance call involving an apparent shotgun.
According to RCMP, police received a call on the morning of April 8 of a suicidal male involved in a domestic disturbance.
"Upon police arrival, a male and a female were located at the corner of Mountainview and Seacot," said Sgt. Russ Howard in a news release. "The male was in possession of what appeared to be a 12-gauge shotgun. A high-risk takedown was initiated and the male was arrested without incident. Upon further inspection, the firearm was determined to be an imitation."
Howard said a Sunshine Coast man was formally charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of undertaking. Following a bail hearing, the man was released with strict conditions placed on him. He is currently awaiting trial.
