Coastal reflection

Prepare yourself for an eclectic gathering of Sunshine Coast art. From July 30 to Aug.

Prepare yourself for an eclectic gathering of Sunshine Coast art. From July 30 to Aug. 4, the Seaside Centre, in conjunction with the Sechelt Family Arts Festival, will be displaying two- and three-dimensional works from artists throughout our community.

"This is a unique opportunity to view the diverse artistry on the Sunshine Coast," said Jane Ford, Sechelt arts and culture committee facilitator.

In a non-juried show, the exhibit will display an exciting collection of never-before-seen material. Exceptional art pieces including Cody Chancellor's Beauty (pictured) will be on display.

Ford has been instrumental in organizing this extensive exhibit. "With the addition of 60 feet of movable walls at Seaside Centre, we have space for 50 paintings or fabric art," she said. "There will also be plinths for 3-D work. The show will be on both levels of the building."

Artists interested in submitting an art piece are asked to present their work on July 23 or 24 at the multipurpose room at the Sechelt Public Library. One work per artist will be chosen. The District of Sechelt will provide insurance protection. All art must be for sale and is commission free. For more information, contact Ford at 604-740-0714, by email at jford@dccnet.com or visit the festival website at www.district.sechelt.bc.ca.
