Coast Reporter tops in Canada

Coast Reporter has won four national newspaper awards from the Canadian Community Newspaper Association (CCNA).

Coast Reporter has won four national newspaper awards from the Canadian Community Newspaper Association (CCNA).

Coast Reporter won gold for general excellence as the best newspaper in the country in its circulation class, (6,500 to 12,499) silver for best editorial page, silver for best front page, and a bronze medal for the community initiative award for the successful Breakfast for Kids campaign.

The CCNA awards program features 33 unique categories honouring outstanding editorial, photography, multimedia and overall excellence in community newspaper publishing. The 2013 competition saw more than 250 publications from coast to coast submit 2,222 entries representing their best work from 2012.

This year's first-place winners will be recognized at a special event on Thursday, May 2 during the INK+BEYOND newspaper conference in Ottawa.
