Coast Reporter will be hosting and moderating three all-candidates forums in advance of the Nov. 19 municipal election.
Town of Gibsons mayor and council candidates will be participating on Sunday night, Nov. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gibsons Legion, candidates for the Sunshine Coast Regional District on Tuesday night, Nov. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Seaside Centre in Sechelt and candidates for School District No. 46 board of trustees on Monday night, Nov. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Seaside Centre.
Coast Cable has been contacted and invited to film all three forums, and they have indicated they will try to be at all three events.
Editor Ian Jacques or associate publisher Cathie Roy will act as moderator at all three forums.
Questions from the public for all three forums will be accepted at the door the night of the forum and will then be drawn at random. All candidates will be given two minutes for opening remarks, one minute to respond to each question and one minute for closing comments. We will answer as many questions as time allows.
The public is urged to attend any or all the forums to get informed about the candidates in advance of the election.
