Coast Reporter nominated for five awards

Coast Reporter has been named a finalist in five categories for this year's British Columbia and Yukon Community Newspaper Awards (BCYCNA).

Coast Reporter has been named a finalist in five categories for this year's British Columbia and Yukon Community Newspaper Awards (BCYCNA).

For the third straight year, Coast Reporter is a finalist in the general excellence category alongside the Whistler Question and Oak Bay News.

In the individual categories Shelley Alleyne is a finalist in the classifieds award along with the Nanaimo News Bulletin and North Shore News; sales associate Joe James is a finalist in the special publications award for Coast Life Magazine along with Grand Forks Gazette and Gulf Islands Driftwood; graphic designer Ashley Doyle is a finalist for the special section award for the Horizons business supplement along with Oak Bay News and Whistler Question and freelance photographer Justin Samson is a finalist for the sports photo award for his mountain bike competition photo this summer. He is up against the Gulf Islands Driftwood and Quesnel Cariboo Observer.

The awards will be handed out on April 14 at the River Rock Casino in Richmond.
