Several Coast Guard units, including the hovercraft responded to a distress call off Roberts Creek Friday afternoon, June 19.
The Coast Guard dispatched responders from Kitsilano to Halfmoon Bay when they got a call after 1 p.m. that a boat was taking on water.
The 42-foot vessel had sprung a leak in its hull. Coast Guard responders were able to repair the leak and the owner was able to pump out the water before the situation became dangerous. The owner of the vessel sailed away from the scene without further incident. The Coast Guard units returned to port around 3 p.m.
