A March 27 vehicle fire near Sechelt's A&W restaurant “is considered to be suspicious and is under investigation," Sechelt Fire Department Chief Trevor Pike confirmed by email to Coast Reporter.

Pike reported the department responded to the blaze that occurred at about 6 p.m. with 16 firefighters and three pieces of apparatus. The RCMP attended the scene as well.

In his March 28 email, Pike said that fire was put out within five minutes of first responders arriving on site. The vehicle was not near and did not damage any Tsain-Ko Centre structures or other vehicles. No injuries were reported.

Smoke from the fire was visible to a number of area residents who posted photos and comments to Facebook, unsure whether it was a vehicle or a structure that was involved.
