A Roberts Creek book club is offering an easy way to raise money for the Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign.

Sunshine Coast readers are invited to bring their gently-used, book-club-quality books and exchange them for new-to-you books. Participants are asked to make a donation to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers fund. It is an opportunity to do a bit of spring cleaning in your library and collect some great summer reads at the same time. People will also be able to buy tickets for a draw for a basket filled with Festival of the Written Arts tickets and souvenirs and other book-lover's items.

"This is an event a friend of mine created in West Vancouver last year," said organizer Sally Quinn. "People were so excited to trade books, and talk about great reads. For every book you bring, you will be able to choose a book to take home. We are inviting book clubs to bring their reading lists, so various groups can exchange lists."

The event takes place Sunday, June 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. at St. John's United Church. Some of the Coast's Grandmothers (and Grand-Others) will be available to answer questions about how the fund is helping grandmothers in Africa look after grandchildren who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS.
