Tickets sold out days ahead for the Black Boot event, held Nov. 18 in the Sechelt Legion.
The gala fundraiser included live music from the Juno award-winning band Alpha Yaya Diallo as well as local favourites Joe Stanton, Simon Paradis and Boyd Norman in a newly-formed trio.
A silent auction offered a diverse selection of generously donated items, and the appetizers were abundant at this well-organized event. Volunteers spent hours decorating both sides of the Legion with striking results, and energy was high all evening.
The Black Boot event, hosted by Craig Moore and Barry Krangle, is held annually in support of the Ruby Slipper fund, which enables cancer patients to remain in the comfort of their own homes.
Ruby Slipper was established in honour of Patsy Rothenbush, who passed away in 2009. Her daughters Katie and Ellen were in attendance and offered a heart-warming thank you to guests and supporters.
