Reed Road between Payne and Fisher Roads will see single-lane alternating traffic from April 11 to May 20 as water main construction is under way.

Commuters may want to avoid Reed Road for the next few weeks.

The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is set to start the next phase of construction for the Church Road well field project, said a press release.

Water main construction on Reed Road is to start April 11 and continue until May 20, said the release.

For efficiency’s sake, there be two construction crews working simultaneously: one from Fisher Road and the other from North Road. There will be single-lane alternating traffic between Payne and Fisher Roads for the entire construction period.

“The contractor for the project, Maycon Construction will be in direct contact with affected residents,” said the press release. “Commuters are asked to consider taking alternate routes while construction is taking place. Drivers are asked to respect construction zone speed limits to ensure a safe working environment for construction crews.”
