The first BC Ferries (BCF) sailing from Langdale on Nov. 24 was delayed by over an hour due to a crew shortage. The corporation's website showed that vessel left for Horseshoe Bay at 7:30 a.m.

Seven minutes before the scheduled 6:20 a.m. departure of that sailing, BCF provided a notice about the delay. That notice makes no mention of impacts for the remainder of the day's sailings beyond an estimate that the delayed sailing was estimated to arrive at its destination at 8:10 a.m.

On the previous evening, BCF had about 10 representatives on hand for it's community consultation at Sechelt's Seaside Centre. The event opened its doors early, and shortly after the 6:30 p.m. advertised start time more than 50 members of the public were on hand to share their views about current service levels and BCF's plans for the future.

A summary of the results of the two-hour session is due to be released within two weeks of the event, according to Astrid Chang for BCF's communications department.
