If you are interested in owning a work of art, last year's banners are going up for sale starting Saturday, March 12, at various merchants and the bank in Lower Gibsons.
These are beautiful art works, done by local artists, many of whom are well known. All funds go towards the material and paint for the new banners. If you wish to donate to the banner fund, you may do so at any of the businesses selling the banners.
This year's theme is roosters. If you are interested in entering a design to paint on a banner, you can pick up forms where the banners are displayed. Completed applications are to be dropped off at the Village Store, 416 Marine Drive in Lower Gibsons, by April 9. So all you rooster lovers, it is your year to crow. Get out your pencil and start designing some awesome roosters. Terri Hanson, who did a great job the last two years, has stepped down from the coordinator's position.
