The Sunshine Coast Astronomy Club is thrilled to host a special multi-media show Feb. 23 at the Sechelt Legion. Astronomy: The Cosmic View is a presentation of John Nemy and Carol Legate of the Pacific Observatory in Whistler. Nemy and Legate are internationally recognized public astronomers who have travelled the world pursuing astronomy and gathering material for their compelling multi-media programs. Astronomy: The Cosmic View incorporates the astonishing discoveries that astronomers are continuing to make. Never before has mankind had such an understanding of our place in the cosmos. This production is a look at how this new knowledge is changing the way we see ourselves on earth and in the universe.

Through imagery, music and live narration, Nemy will take us to the edge of black holes, through solar storms and to the outer limits of the universe. He uses spectacular images in large projected format and original sound track music in high fidelity stereo. For more information on the presentation, see www.nemy.com.

The presentation is next Friday at the Sechelt Legion Hall starting at 7:30 p.m. All ages are welcome. A small donation would be appreciated.
