The 13-year-old youth charged with arson in connection with the June 4 fire in Lower Gibsons has had his arraignment adjourned for a second time.

Crown counsel Trevor Cockfield requested an adjournment on Tuesday, Aug. 24, after telling the judge he was still having "very detailed discussions" with the youth's defence counsel about the case.

The youth, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is due back in court for an arraignment on Sept. 21.

Police charged the youth on June 6, after a tip from a second youth, 11, who was with the other youth at the time of the fire.

RCMP said the two youths were skipping school and hanging out under Coles Marine Diesel when the fire broke out.
