Sunshine Coast RCMP are again asking for the public’s assistance to locate an e-bike stolen in Gibsons.

The latest, a blue and black Yukon 750 VoltBike, was stolen at 3:30 pm on Sunday, Oct. 3 from the 800 block of Gibsons Way.

The incident follows the theft of a black MaxBik e-bike on Sept. 15 from behind a business in the 1000 block of Gibsons Way. That bike has still not been recovered, RCMP Const. Karen Whitby said Oct. 4.

Anyone with any information about either theft is asked to contact Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266.

Whitby said 30 bikes in the detachment area were reported stolen in the last year.

“We also have about the same amount turned in every year that we cannot connect with the owners as the serial numbers have either never been provided to police or they have been altered or ground off,” she said.

“It’s so important that people take those few minutes to take a photo of their bike and document their serial numbers.”
