Ancient wood on display on Sechelt waterfront

An ancient log and interpretive sign have been put on display on the Sechelt waterfront in front of the Watermark condominiums. The log was unearthed during excavation for the condos and was radiocarbon dated to 4,830 years (5,500 calendar years).

An ancient log is now on display in front of the Watermark building in Sechelt.

An ancient log and interpretive sign have been put on display on the Sechelt waterfront in front of the Watermark condominiums. The log was unearthed during excavation for the condos and was radiocarbon dated to 4,830 years (5,500 calendar years). It was donated by the Natural History Society to the District of Sechelt for public display. Funding for the interpretative sign was provided by Sunshine Coast Community Forest.
