Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Werewolf? Driftwood Theatre School returns with the hilarious fairytale mashup Mother Goose Is Eaten By Werewolves.

Driftwood Theatre School is back with another rollicking musical fairytale mashup by Steph DeFerie: Mother Goose Is Eaten By Werewolves. This family-friendly comedy showcases 36 talented local actors between the ages of five and 16.

Werewolves are baying at the stage door, terrifying a theatre company trying to put on a play called Mother Goose Is Eaten By Werewolves. “No one told me we’d be using REAL werewolves,” Mother Goose shrieks from the wings, refusing to play the lead role. But the show must go on, and a plucky Fairy Godmother convinces a sassy witch, timorous prince, distinguished wolf and long-suffering stage manager to put on a new play, a favourite fairytale told from the point of view of the heroes … and the villains!

“How to describe the play?” director Ingrid Bilton mused. “Pandemonium! A wild, chaotic, hilarious romp that will have the audience in stitches.”

The show runs April 26 to 28 and May 3 to 5 at Gibsons Heritage Playhouse. Tickets are available at Strait Music, Laedeli Gifts, Giggle ‘n Bloom, The Blackberry Shop and online at www.share-there.com.

Actors are students of Driftwood Theatre School, which has been training youth in the dramatic arts for over ten years. Last year’s production of The (Almost) Totally True Story of Hansel and Gretel played to rave reviews and sold out audiences, so the public is encouraged to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment.
