Canadian award-winning musicians Valdy and Gary Fjellgaard held the full house in thrall at the Heritage Playhouse on Feb. 20 with their gentle, funny stories and their sheer enjoyment of performing.
Fjellgaard’s fine finger-picking on the acoustic and electric guitar revealed his western roots while he and Valdy sang old favourites and new tunes from their latest recording, Contenders 3, Off the Floor.
These two don’t quit – they have been on stage since the 1960s and were in their prime during Saturday’s show, giving the audience two encores.
Old guys? No, ageless performers.
