All four Toastmasters clubs on the Sunshine Coast competed for public speaking honours last Saturday in two area contests held at the Davis Bay Hall.
PJ Reece of Morningstars gave the audience a yarn titled Gullible and was a first place winner in the Tall Tales competition. He and second place winner Maureen McBeath (Sunshine Toastmasters) will head to Vancouver for regional competition. Jennie Tschoban and Robert MacDonald also competed.
In the Table Topics (or impromptu speaking) competition, Charles Jeffery of the newest Coastmasters Toastmasters club took first place with Maureen McBeath of the Sunshine club coming second. Tommy Monnier was third place winner in both competitions. Dorothy McCallum and Shanti Sue Whitlock also competed.
