The Story of Seeds screens March 26

Green Film Series

In support of the One Straw Society and Seedy Saturday, the Green Film Series will screen the film Open Sesame: The Story of Seeds on Thursday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Roberts Creek Hall.

In this moving documentary you will meet a diverse range of individuals whose lives centre around seeds: farmers, renegade gardeners, passionate seed savers, artists and seed activists. All are working to save seed biodiversity.

Members of the Sunshine Coast Seed Saving Collective and the One Straw Society will make presentations about what they do and upcoming workshops and activities including Seedy Saturday.

Following the film, there will be a Skype interview with film director Sean Kaminsky and a Q&A with the audience.

Snacks and refreshments will be available. Admission to the film is by donation (suggested $10). The Series is offering season passes for $40 for all of the spring films. The passes are a way to support the Green Film Series to make sure these great documentary films continue to be shown on the Sunshine Coast.

The Green Film Series is dedicated to using film as a tool for community engagement on environmental and sustainability issues and is produced by Rhizome Up! Media. The screening events are meant to foster the role of film as a catalyst for dialogue, networking and action.
