Arbutus apology
Connie Johnston writes on behalf of the Arbutus Sounds Chorus: To any of our fans who braved the elements to come and hear us sing last Saturday at Gibsons Public Library, we extend our sincere apologies for any disappointment. The snowy roads were definitely a factor. If you still wish to hear us sing, we will be carolling around Trail Bay Mall in Sechelt on Saturday, Dec. 17, from noon to 2 p.m., and again at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens on Mason Road, on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. With thanks, appreciation and a very Merry Christmas to all our avid supporters!

Solstice love
Come join a visionary group of musicians to celebrate Winter Solstice as they “light a tree” within and bring back the light for each other on Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Roberts Creek Community Hall. All are welcome. Listen and receive the heart opening sonic soundscapes created by flutes, crystal bowls, drums, strings and voices. Participate in group chanting and toning, singing simple sounds that anyone can make. No previous singing experience required. They also invite participants to share in a deep listening, silent meditation followed by tea and socializing. Bring a dessert snack to share and a donation for the Cold Weather Homeless Shelter in Sechelt and other community members in need. This event is presented by Sacred Sound, unifying through sound and silence.
