Parents and visitors alike were captivated by the range of mood changes -from the musical theatre class's cocky, in your face rendition of King of New York, which started the show, to a winsome Tip Toe Teddy Bear number (year one mini ballet) to the pre-dance acrobatic Aerobics Fun, followed by an upbeat Lollipop (year one mini jazz) and the graceful Magic That Surrounds You interpretation by the year two mini ballet group.

The fast-paced show included a series of heartfelt solos from Les Miserables, and the award-winning ballad Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

The hip hop group made a dramatic entrance in total darkness highlighted by flashing finger-tipped gloves, giving a dynamic portrayal of Adam Lambert's Trespassing.

Gangnam-style had the year two mini jazz group dancing with wild abandon, and this music was the choice for the finale in which all the dancers participated in a triumphant conclusion to the recital.

Performing arts director/instructor Elaine Hunter created innovative choreography, which was evident throughout, and her years of experience in bringing out the best in her students were reflected in this vibrant performance.

Well-deserved congratulations go to the parents for supporting their children through the necessary hard work and discipline for which they are now being rewarded, and which will reflect in all aspects of their lives.
