Three of the galleries involved are within hailing distance of one another on Marine Drive, making it easy to park your car and walk: The Landing Gallery will be hosting a studio sale of members' art, the Daffadowndilly Gallery shows paintings, cards and gifts, and the Gibsons Public Art Gallery (GPAG) will show their current exhibition of Jone Pane's sculptures and figurative paintings along with Tim McLaughlin's portrait photography.

Artist Sa Boothroyd invites visitors to her studio at the end of the government wharf, "the last building before you fall in the water," as she said. Find her witty and wise sayings on prints, magnets and tea towels.

The stylish Swish clothing store will feature the work of a former staff member and local artist, Jen Drysdale.

The Gypsy Cove gift shop on Gower Point Road features antiques and vintage art. Look there for the jewelry of local artisan Kerri Luciani.

The Blackberry Shop carries the work of 60 local artisans, including Pat Forst's clay work, and Byron Anderson's copper sculpture, plus some lip-smacking locally made jams and chutneys.

Westwind Gallery will not be part of the Art Stroll this year - owner Morley Baker is getting ready for the Power of Paint exhibition in Sechelt, but the Gibsons Landing Trading Post is open for business with furniture, books, collectibles and More's newest outlet for coffee and treats.

The new kid on the block, The 1902 Tea House, will be showing the art of Jominca, holding a live painting demo and displaying jewelry made by local artisans who are originally from South Africa or Britain.

"There are lots of us now who are living here," said the Tea House's Su-Mari Hill in her South African accent.#160; #160;

GPAG's director Pat Drope said there are some interesting draw prizes this year from Sushi Bar Nagomi, Truffles CafÉ, The Black Bean CafÉ and Mike's Place/Gelato. The Sunshine Coast Museum & Archives will have a special draw when people visit to see their current exhibition, the craft and culture of the Squamish canoe.

The reception is on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the GPAG (431 Marine Dr.). All are welcome. Brochures with a map are to be found at the above locations.
