Street banner project winners chosen

The Sunshine Coast Arts Council is pleased to announce the winners of this year's Sechelt Street Banner project.

The Sunshine Coast Arts Council is pleased to announce the winners of this year's Sechelt Street Banner project.

This year's 17 street banner designs have been selected from more than 400 entries by young artists under the age of 18 who live on the Sunshine Coast. Banners will be produced from these designs and erected on Cowrie Street in Sechelt for the summer of 2005.

The banner designs submitted by the student artists will be on display at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre from Nov. 1 to 21. A reception honouring the artists will be held at the Arts Centre on Sunday, Nov. 21 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

The young artists whose designs were selected are: Michael Bunbury, 6, Kinnikinnick Elementary; Karyn Frewin, 11, Madeira Park Elementary; Nicole Williams, 6, West Sechelt Elementary; Jake London Snedden, 10, Halfmoon Bay Elementary; Jordan Smith, 6, Halfmoon Bay Elementary; Taylor McKay, 11, Madeira Park Elementary; Saba Kashuba, 7, Halfmoon Bay Elementary; Adam Goddard, 11, Gibsons Elementary; Teddy Williams, 7, Sechelt Elementary; Alissa Robins, 12, Kinnikinnick Elementary; Gavin Strom, 8, Sechelt Elementary; Lisa Cutlan, 13, Chatelech Secondary; Grace Stanhope, 8, Halfmoon Bay Elementary; Carl Sanders, 12, Davis Bay Elementary; Chloe Cooper, 9, Kinnikinnick Elementary; Wyatt Hedden, 9, Halfmoon Bay Elementary; Teora Fulton, 9, Sechelt Elementary.
