Story-telling was the popular activity on July 25 when about 40 people crowded into the Gibsons Public Art Gallery for the first Raconteurs evening, organized by Janice Williams (pictured left).

Elder Barb Higgins (pictured right) told a moving story about a message from the Creator to visit her dying father. The audience learned about the canoe journey that lightened Ed Hill’s heart. Local people recalled memories of what life was like on the Coast in the old days. Gallery past-president Pat Drope reminded everyone of the Gibsons woman, Eve Smart, who made the gallery possible. Pat Forst and David King sang songs that told stories, while Williams sang her original composition about loving this little redneck town.
