GPAG show
Passionate Vision, an exhibition by artists Barry Wainwright and Bob Evermon, displays at the Gibsons Public Art Gallery from May 2 to 26.
The exhibition includes sculpture, painting, photographs and prints. All are welcome to attend an opening reception this Saturday, May 3, from 2 to 4 p.m.
In the past, Wainwright and Evermon have exhibited in the same shows and been featured in the same catalogues. Each held the other’s work in high regard, but had never met until they both came to live in Sechelt and found themselves to be neighbours. Their careers paralleled when both were professors of fine arts and printmakers. Now they are collaborating to put on a show together for the first time.

Cohen show
Cohen fans Oliver Swain and Glenna Garramone harmonized to perfection on many Leonard Cohen tunes last Sunday in a fundraiser for the Heritage Playhouse.
The Tower of Song show highlighted a few older and rare Cohen works, including one he co-wrote with Phil Spector. Neither vocalist imitated Cohen’s husky voice, but truly made the songs their own. Innovative cellist Corbin Keep turned his instrument to both percussion and melody with equal facility in adding to this wonderful show.
