The Chatelech Secondary School concert band, directed by Carolyn Mitchell, greeted a huge turnout of parents and friends to the annual Chatelech Showcase of the Arts on Tuesday night.

Samples of student work in photography and painting were on display in the halls. An appreciative crowd admired culinary arts student Jessica Termuende's decorated cake and tasted Matthew Hewitt's outstanding lime mousse. Matthew later hosted a variety show in the school's theatre along with Jessica Borthwick.

Highlights included a song, Glory Bound, by Madison Fancher and Jessalyn Law, an original skit, Drama Queens, written and performed by two Grade 9 students, Kendyl Smith and Georgia Toth, and a music performance from Doug Mercer and Jake Downie. Drama and dance were also prominent, along with a full fashion show from the grades 9 to 12 textiles students.

Proceeds from the Chat Showcase are put toward fine art and performing art scholarships.
