Deer Crossing the Art Farm presents its second annual open house, Return, next weekend.

The open house, set for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 8 and 9, runs from noon to 6 p.m. both days and is a family-friendly event.

Return is a multi-disciplinary arts event featuring site-specific installations and performances. Winding pathways around the farm and surrounding forest will lead audiences past sculptural installation, ceramics, mask theatre, hanging canvas paintings, music, puppets, poetry and more.

Return will give locals and visitors a taste of the diverse talent pool here on the Sunshine Coast including ceramic artists Suzanne Biden and Maggie Citrin, painter and sculptor Diego Samper, Tinfish (guitarists Valerie Jackson and Paul Pinsonnault), puppeteer Sandy Buck, poet/printer Eilis Carpentier and writer/performer Chad Hershler. There will also be several Vancouver artists in attendance as well.

Located on five acres, two kilometres from the Langdale ferry terminal, Deer Crossing the Art Farm is a not-for-profit arts organization whose goal is to "provide and sustain an accessible rural space for artists of all disciplines to create, perform and display innovative work."

Admission is $10 per person, $20 per family and includes an art farm annual membership. Members come free of charge. For directions, visit www.deercrossingtheartfarm.org.
