The Power of Paint exhibition at the Seaside Centre in Sechelt Aug. 17 to 19 attracted crowds of festival-goers to see the work of local professionals, the Eleven Equal Artists. Art patrons snapped up many of the works, including some of the collaborative small pieces offered at a lower price to raise funds for art scholarships. During the first of the painting demonstrations taking place on the lawn, artist Cindy Riach (right) chose subject Judy McLarty to pose for a portrait in oils. “It was harder than I thought,” McLarty said, “to sit still for an hour and a half.” However, she was delighted with the result.
