One piano, two players, four hands, 20 busy fingers.Canada's foremost piano duo, James Anagnoson and Leslie Kinton, returns to Sechelt for a Coast Recital Society concert at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Raven's Cry Theatre.In the second of the society's series of pre-concert chats, Anagnoson and Kinton will discuss the music they're planning to play, including works by Ludwig von Beethoven, Anton Dvorak, Franz Schubert and Igor Stravinsky. This piano salon takes place at 1:30 prior to the concert.Recognized as Canada's leading duo pianists, Anagnoson and Kinton were solo players when, 25 years ago, they teamed up for a series of three concerts as a duo. Today, more than 500 concerts later, they tour the world as soloists and with orchestral appearances and have recorded many splendid examples of piano duet repertoire."Piano four-hands is the most wonderful form of music-making," says CRS artistic director, Frances Heinsheimer Wainwright."With no other instrument can two musicians - amateur or professional - sit side by side, and with the blending of four hands, create a unified, deeply felt musical picture."The pieces in Sunday's program are some of the greatest works in the piano duo repertoire, Heinsheimer Wainwright promises, including Schubert's Fantasy in f minor and selections from Stravinsky's famous ballet, Petrushka.Tickets are still available for the concert.
