Bruce Devereux of Christenson Village care facility and Chad Hershler from Deer Crossing the Art Farm have a new project in the works. They have combined forces to create a new entity called The Imagination Network as a vehicle to inspire linking the creative arts, healthcare and education.
The official launch to the public happens this Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m. at the Heritage Playhouse in Gibsons. They will show the 55-minute documentary film, Penelope, about the creation of the Penelope Project. The project was a collaborative effort to dramatically raise the bar on activities within a long-term care facility in Milwaukee. Using the story of Penelope from Homer’s The Odyssey, a team of staff, residents, artists and students engaged an entire long-term care community in creativity and learning. For more information, see www.thepenelopeproject.com.
Tickets for $10 are available in person at Christenson Village (585 Shaw Road, Gibsons) or at www.imaginationnetwork.ca
