Local indie rock band Sinmobile's first CD, a six song EP recorded at Strait Sound in Roberts Creek, is fast-paced, hungry, let-it-all-out-on-the-dance-floor music.
"I'm out of control / having the time of my life / I can't stop laughing The party has started," sing the band on the tune, Fast.
Sinmobile's Irene Orallo (vocals) and Mike Soper (guitar) met in Vancouver in the early 1990s when their bands were billed on the same night at an after-hours club. As a husband and wife team they've been writing songs together for 20 years. After moving to the Sunshine Coast in 2003 they soon made connections in the musical community and met Rick Raymond (bass) and Kody Raymond (drums) at an open stage at the Halfmoon Bay Fair in 2007. When the four got together as Sinmobile their distinctive style was born.
Lyrics are important. Listen up to Empty Beautiful for a few lessons on life. Rock to Sugar Shaker: "Who the hell are you and what the hell have you become?" Sinmobile is the answer.
