To say that Françoise Houle (clarinet) and Jayne Hayes (piano) embody musical excitement is an understatement. From the moment these astonishing musicians came together to explore rare gems written for their instruments, discerning audiences and critics alike knew they were in for a treat.
With a repertoire ranging from classics — some rarely heard — to newly commissioned works, Houle and Hayes weave programming magic that both enlightens and delights. They are on a journey of exploration and discovery and it is a true delight to join them for a few hours.
See them live in concert next Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Pender Harbour School of Music in Madeira Park. Tickets are $25 each, available at Harbour Insurance, John Henry’s Marina, the Sechelt Visitors Centre, and Gaia’s Fair Trade in Gibsons.
