Capilano University is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To mark this momentous occasion, the university has teamed up with the Vancouver Mural Festival to help transform 10 prominent exterior walls on its North Vancouver campus, and one at kálax-ay, the Sunshine Coast campus, into full-colour painted murals. The murals will welcome students and the community to CapU’s campuses and serve as lasting legacies of the university’s 50th anniversary.
CapU is seeking artists who can provide a portfolio of their work and are available to paint their mural in late August to early September. A connection to CapU would be a bonus. Selected artists will be compensated for their work. Prospective artists can apply at capilanou.ca/50, before July 15 at 5 p.m. Only resident artists of the Sunshine Coast will be considered for the kálax-ay project.
