Since their last visit to the Sunshine Coast, Mindil Beach Markets have released a critically acclaimed new album (It Might Take Long), toured it across Canada twice, and appeared on multiple morning news shows across the country, including CTV's Canada AM and Global TV Vancouver.
All former residents of the Coast, the band took the leap into being full-time touring musicians at the beginning of March 2013, purchasing an RV and waving goodbye to their former lives.
MBM will only be in B.C. for a couple months before hitting the road again in September. While back home, they'll be playing a string of festivals and concerts, including a night at Roberts Creek Legion next Saturday, July 13, at 9 p.m.
Joining MBM is Roberts Creek native Brett Wilde-man, who happens to be an old friend of the band. Wildeman will be celebrating the release of his new album, Mother Earth.
Tickets are $8 for members and $15 for guests with members.
On top of their regular touring circuit, the band continues to play high schools with their environmental initiative, The Jellyfish Project. Offered completely free of charge, The Jellyfish Project consists of a live performance by the band followed by a dynamic slideshow presentation on ocean health, climate change and environmental stewardship. They've now played to more than 13,000 students and have more than 40 presentations (to some 20,000 students) booked this fall.
