Gibsons’ Cindy Riach, Places and Spaces, and Earl’s Cove resident George Connell, Oil Spiel, exhibit their oil paintings from Feb. 11 to March 15 at the Doris Crowston Gallery at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt.
Riach’s new oil paintings explore the possibilities of imaginative interior spaces, as well as expressive and colourful landscapes and water scenes. Her show includes interiors incorporating still life arrangements and figurative painting, freed from logical arrangement in space.
Connell’s exhibit covers a range of work. Whether it’s a portrait, a scene of boats at a dock or two pairs of feet in hiking boots, Connell considers that all of his work “is an exercise in creating a talisman or avatar.”
