Lux Aeterna shines

Lux Aeterna (eternal light) was one of many songs about light sung in the outdoors by the 20-member A Cappella Strait choir at Willow Farm June 21 on the longest day of the year.

Lux Aeterna (eternal light) was one of many songs about light sung in the outdoors by the 20-member A Cappella Strait choir at Willow Farm June 21 on the longest day of the year. As the cool summer evening faded to sunset, several choirs took turns on the tiny stage, beginning with Salix Strings, a group that includes Willow Farm owner and cellist Janice Pentland-Smith.

She quipped that Willow was the only nursery on the Coast with its own string ensemble. The group performed Bach and a contemporary classical piece.

Choralations Children's Choir and the Teen Choir sang several choral numbers of all genres for the audience of about 100 people including their signature tune, Freedom Trilogy. A Cappella Strait closed the show with one of director Janice Brunson's favourites, Butterfly.
