The 2006 International Choral Kathaumixw Tour comes to St. Hilda's Church in Sechelt on Sunday,July 9 at 7:30 p.m., with a concert by the acclaimed Adelaide Chamber Singers (ACS).

The concert, co-presented by the Coast Recital Society and St. Hilda's Anglican Church, continues a Kathaumixw tradition of presenting outstanding international choirs in communities around B.C. Kathaumixw is a Salish Indian word meaning "a gathering together of different peoples." The ACS will take part in Kathaumixw 2006, the international choral festival held in Powell River every two years.

The ACS has been an energetic, innovative and passionate contributor to music making in Australia for over 20 years. Formed in 1985 by Carl Crossin, ACS comprises some of Adelaide's best and most experienced ensemble singers, some of whom are also soloists and/or conductors in their own right. The ensembleis widely regarded as one of Australia's leading chamber choirs. Their 2006 international tour includes performances in Canada, the United States and Britain.The ACS are conducted by Carl Crossin - a conductor, educator, clinician and composer, and thefounder/director of the ensemble.

Tickets are $10, available from Coast Books in Gibsons and Talewind Books in Sechelt, or at the door on concertevening. Doors open at7 p.m.
