The show Human/Nature features art by Cody Chancellor and Jennifer Norquist Chancellor and runs from Oct. 5 to 30 at the Sunshine Coast Art Centre's gallery.
The show examines the dynamic and complex relationship we have developed with the natural world. Our (Human) creativity and technologies are extensions of natural phenomena, both in harmony and conflict with our planet's environment. Through sculpture, paintings, sound, performance and an immersive environment two local/international artists explore how community interacts with the contemporary resource and progress based culture.
The artists' reception takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. Since the show will be up at the same time as the Sechelt Festival of the Arts, the centre will offer many free workshops on the weekend of Oct. 22 and 23.
