Popular gardening speaker and instructor Mike Nassichuk will give a workshop entitled tips for success in your vegetable garden on Saturday, March 7.

The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to noon at Frank West Hall in Gibsons. Learn to feed your family the freshest, tastiest and most nutritious vegetables possible, and at the cheapest cost too. Many Coast gardeners already enjoy a home vegetable garden, and with a few tips from Nassichuk, even beginning gardeners can grow their own organic produce.

This workshop promises to be both inspiring and down-to-earth. It will be accompanied by an audio-visual presentation. Bring your vegetable-growing questions. An additional pleasure for parents and grandparents is to watch children learn where their food comes from. You can encourage their natural curiosity by giving them a row or a plot to tend. And the whole family will enjoy the fruits of their labour. The lecture is sponsored by the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society. Tickets are $12 for society members and $15 for non-members. Pre-register by calling 604-886-4895 or online at www.coastbotanicalgarden.org.
