Coast TV's music show Out Loud is hosting a free concert at the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse this Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
Out Loud, now in its second season, showcases local musical acts late night on Coast TV.
Season one featured 12 independent local bands and artists, in varying genres like rockers Sinmobile, rapper Jo Mega, Ska band BOAB and folk rockers The Midds.
Sponsored by the Sunshine Coast Credit Union, one act from season one will receive a $700 cash prize. So Coast TV has asked five judges from the music industry, including producer Garth Richardson who owns Nimbus School of Recording Arts and virtuoso musician Celso Machado, to narrow down this year's artists. The acts with the most cross referenced judge's votes will be playing a free concert at the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse where audience members can vote on who they think should win the grand prize.
The three performers with the most votes from this year's judges are local songstress Jess Hart, piano rocker Nir Blu, and folk bluegrasser Matthew Lovegrove. The rock band Shanto, who also was well liked by the judges, will be playing the following Friday, Nov. 8 at the Beach House Lounge in Gibsons.
The concert at the Heritage Playhouse will be recorded for later broadcast on Coast TV so those that come to the show will be a part of the live studio audience.
Tamar Kozlov and Irene Orallo created Out Loud to help create more opportunities for artists in the music scene on the Sunshine Coast.
