Come check out an exciting pairing of bands Saturday, May 10, at the Gumboot Restaurant.

Local stringband The Rakish Angles will share the night with The Frazey Ford Band. While many music lovers will be familiar with Frazey from the well-known folk/country group The Be Good Tanyas, audiences can expect all new repertoire and a new sound. The band includes Trish Klein (also of The Be Good Tanyas), Mark Beaty on bass and John Raham on drums. Their new sound is more soul influenced, with the rich harmonies and delightful writing that Be Good fans are familiar with. The Rakish Angles are Dan Richter (guitar), Boyd Norman (standup bass), Simon Hocking (mandolin) and Serena Eades (violin). Blending stringband tradition and contemporary imagination, these instrumentalists weave an intricate tapestry of mostly original gypsy, jazz and bluegrass music. Since their unofficial début in the fall of 2007, The Angles have been busy brewing, composing and arranging even more new music.

Show time is 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 (kids 12 and under $5), available at Gaia's Fair Trade Gifts and MELOmania.
