The Sunshine Coast Jazz and Entertainment Society is excitedto announce the return of one of Canada's most buzzed-about bands, Delhi 2 Dublin, coming to the Roberts Creek Hall, Feb. 25. This time around, home town fiddle player Sara Fitzpatrick will be upfront and centre playing on stage.

Hour magazine wrote, "Delhi 2 Dublin is the United Nations of rock 'n' roll."

The Vancouver-based band plays an energetic mash-up of Bhangra, Celtic, dub, reggae and electronica with global rhythms and club beats. Tarun Nayar, Sanjay Seran, Andrew Kim and Ravi Binning along with Fitzpatrick are diverse in both their backgrounds and musical influences. The band has been together almost five years and has released three albums including its latest, Planet Electric. The album title is apt because the musicians feel they plug directly into the world's music and energy.

Get your tickets early, $20 from Strait Music in Sechelt, Gaia's Fair Trade in Gibsons and MELOmania in Roberts Creek. Doors open at 9 p.m. Joining the party will be world beat DJ Yum Yum for a non-stop night of music.

After all, where else are you going to see a kick-ass fiddle player rocking out with a kilt-wearing Korean flanked by two bouncing Bhangra percussionists and a vocalist who looks like he would be at home in a Bollywood music video? For more information, go to www.coastjazz.com.
